Nocardia pneumonia in immunocompetent host: An uncommon mimic of common disease

Nocardia pneumonia is rare in immunocompetent hosts.Here, we present a case of a woman who presented to us with a chronic cough, fever, and weight loss of 2 months ds durga hand soap duration.Chest X-ray showed nonhomogenous opacity.

CT thorax showed a mass-like lesion in the right upper lobe.A bronchoscopy was done, and washings taken from the affected lobe confirmed it to be a case of Nocardia pneumonia.She responded well to 6 months of therapy of trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole with an initial sapatilha infantil prata glitter 1-month intensive phase of intravenous Imipenem along with it.
